macOS pre-release notes

Nimagna for macOS is a pre-release version with known differences to the Windows release:

Additions:

  • Support of local import of Keynote and PowerPoint presentations, as well as PDFs.

  • Support for Continuity Camera, allowing you to use your iPhone as a camera within the Nimagna App.

  • The Nimagna Camera works with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Webex, as well as within any browser-based video tool (e.g. Google Meet), Quicktime, FaceTime, or PhotoBooth.

Current limitations:

  • Screen sharing is not available (yet).

Your first steps with Nimagna

  1. Download, install and launch the app

  2. Create a Nimagna account and follow the on-boarding process

  3. Open a new show, add your presentation and any image or video you'd like

  4. Join an online meeting using any platform like Teams, Zoom, or Meet

  5. Select the “Nimagna Camera” in the respective device settings of your video platform

macOS permissions

The first time you use the Nimagna App you must allow MacOS to open the downloaded app and the app to make changes to your system, i.e. to install the Nimagna Camera. Watch the installation video for Mac for a walk-through.

macOS will then automatically request the following permissions for the Nimagna App the first time they are needed.

  • Camera: To access the cameras.

  • Files and Folders: To access user-level files on your disk, essential for importing content.

  • Automation: To run Apple Script and System Events to control your Mac, other applications and convert content.

You can always review options that you've given or declined in the past by going to:

System Settings > Privacy & Security.
